Large dial on top, marked with numbers 0 to 350 in increments of 10. Telescoping antenna on top at the back, proper left corner. Metal handle on proper left side. Serial Number on bottom: 1678.
The RDF detects radio signals from broadcast stations on shore and pinpoints the direction of the station. Since the location of each broadcast station is known, a sailor can use multiple signals to triangulate his ship’s position.
